Of all the things he does to keep pets healthy, Dr. Madsen has found in his 30+ years as a veterinarian that dentistry one of the most rewarding.  “Nothing else has such an immediate and dramatic impact on the comfort, health and longevity of pets than eliminating a painful dental infection and keeping the mouth healthy.”  That is why Family Pet Hospital focuses on dentistry All Year Long and not just in February.

Here are before & after photos of a recent case involving Charlie.

Born with crowded, crooked teeth, he trapped a lot of food that lead to infection and pain.  Charlie didn’t stop eating because he didn’t know anyone could help him out.  He just suffered in silence and did what came natural in finding some way to get the food down with as little discomfort as possible.  His new owner noticed his bad breath and got him the treatment he needed.  So often, clients call us back after treating similar cases to thank us for helping their beloved pet feel better.

“We had no idea that Sammie was in so much pain.  We just thought he was slowing down with age.”

“Ever since you worked on Casey’s chipped teeth, she’s been jumping higher for her Frisbee than she has in two years.”

Some pets have noticeable signs of periodontal disease, but others retain much of nature’s evolutionary instincts to hide such symptoms until the problem is very advanced.   Here are a few things to watch for that are indications that your pet may need a complete oral cleaning.
